Last month, the American Strategic Management Institute held its Performance Conference in Orlando, FL. This event took a comprehensive look at performance management, and examined many innovative strategies and best practices to help organizations improve on their overall performance to achieve bottom-line results. Given that linking organizational budgets to strategic initiatives is still troublesome to many organizations, Lawrence Serven’s presentation on Budget Integration and Strategy Execution helped provide a bridge for the gap. Lawrence is president of XLerant, and began his career in industry, where he designed, implemented and led business planning efforts for various Fortune 500 companies. His presentation highlighted how to reconcile the business planning and budgeting process, and the linkage between the budget and the customer, internal processes and employees.
