Structured Forecasting and Its Value for Success
Last February, The American Strategic Management Institute held its Budgeting and Forecasting Masters event in San Diego. This event focused on best practices to help organizations efficiently and strategically deploy financial resources and improve accountability for the responsibility of financial management. Given that the budgeting and forecasting process is still an event which causes exasperation across organizations, Joe Smith, Group Director, Forecasting and Revenue Management Process and Solution Integration from Coca-Cola Enterprises’ presentation, “Structured Forecasting and Its Value for Success,” was referred to as “thought provoking” and “very practical and applicable.” It spoke to the basics of forecasting and the common hurdles encountered, the structure and tools to create a viable forecasting system, and methods to reduce forecasting error.
